The foundations are laid from the first Book of the Bible, to help us understand the perfect plan of salvation that G-d has for mankind. If one doesn't study the foundations of this plan a great part of the Revelation is lost, notably, the Revelation of Messiah Yeshua.
Receiving Him in our heart as Savior and Master is one thing, one first necessary step for our salvation, but our path doesn't stop there. After Pesach (salvation by grace), we must head to the Festival celebrated in honor of HaShem, "three days walk" after the reception of the Torah: Shavuot. Avraham saw the L-rd, and the story of his life and of his descendents reveals His Presence, even from the beginning. The same way we have received the Savior in our hearts, it is now about receiving His Torah engraved in our hearts, even as proclaimed by the prophets in Jeremiah 31:31. True new birth takes place by the action of the Ruach HaKodesh, who circumcises our hearts to be able to walk according to the criteria of holiness of Elohim.
But in order to be able to walk in these commandements, under Yeshua's yoke, we need to know the Word. When did G-d speak, before the eyes and to the ears of all, with the sound of thunder, setting ablaze an entire mountain? The answer is obvious: the Creator of the universe came to reveal His heart at Mount Sinai, a place that didn't belong to anyone, and that was open freely to all those who wanted to drink the waters of life.
Yeshua manifested Himself on that day at Mount Sinai, but only Moshe could see Him. Moshe's skin shone so intensely that he covered it with a veil. He shone from the initial Light of Creation: the Light of Messiah. He is the PURPOSE of the Torah; He fills us with His love and calls us to follow Him, to prepare a heavenly Bride.
He left us these words: John 5:45-47 But don't think that it is I who will be your accuser before the Father. Do you know who will accuse you? Moshe, the very one you have counted on! For if you really believed Moshe, you would believe me; because it was about me that he wrote. But if you don't believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?
Indeed, if we don't believe the Torah of Moshe, how will we believe the words of Yeshua? They are the same, only revealed to our understanding, because the veil was lifted.
By studying the Torah, our intimate knowledge and revelation of Yeshua grows. Don't stay at the stage of Pesach and salvation by grace; move on to the stage of priesthood! He is preparing the Kingdom of priests for the Glory of G-d the Father!

Soon Purim!
We have just started the second month of Adar. Let's recall the saying that goes like this: he who enters Adar sees his joy increase! Mi shenichnass Adar, marbeh besimcha! So let's have a double portion of joy this year! The world might get crazy, we have the commandment to rejoice: Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in union with the Lord always! I will say it again: rejoice!
 It is also a custom to give more tzedaka in addition to one's tithe during this month. This is based on the Book of Esther in which the people of Israel were set free from Amalek and decided to celebrate the victory by sending offerings to the poor and matanot (gifts) to one another :
Esther 9:20-22 Mordekhai recorded these events and sent letters to all the Jews in all the provinces of King Achashverosh, both near and far, instructing them to observe the fourteenth day of the month of Adar and the fifteenth day, every year, (to commemorate) the days on which the Jews obtained rest from their enemies and the month which for them was turned from sorrow into gladness and from mourning into a holiday; they were to make them days of celebrating and rejoicing, sending portions (of food) to each other and giving gifts to the poor.

Yeshiva Sukkat David Since our return from Belgium, we have received new registrations and the Yeshiva is growing in all the French speaking countries! This word was received during worship, when we were gathered in Brussels: I saw huge bridges, starting from Sukkat David in Israel and going into the nations. Some bridges were like highways, and a few of them even overlooked the others. There were many, and among them, a tiny one came to take its place. It looked rather like a footbridge. I could see it clearly, although it was small and underneath all the other bridges. This small footbridge was also very short, it didn't reach out of Israel. It is the beginning of new ties for Sukkat David in Israel. May G-d bless you. Amen, may it be so! Come join our ranks and build bridges! It is time to find shelter in His Word. Torah Weekly Portion: VaYikra Each of the sacrifices tells about the Work of Yeshua.. All those themes are developed in depth in the studies of our Distance Messianic Yeshiva. Adonai called vayikra, וַיִּקְרָא to Moshe and spoke to him from the tent of meeting. Leviticus 1:1
Copying not permitted without authorization. Copyright 2006-2009. All rights reserved The Book of Genesis documents Creation and the birth of the Hebrew people with Avraham's calling. The Book of Exodus tells of the deliverance of this people and its constitution as a nation by the receiving of the Torah. A Tabernacle is built revealing G-d's will and Leviticus, the third Book will now explain for us how to reach the level of holiness required for His presence to dwell among us. Moshe, being called by G-d will teach the Bnei Israel the complex and mysterious laws of the sacrifices. These sacrifices, which are major in the service for G-d, are usually taught to young children using the Book of Leviticus, because the purity and holiness coming out of it had a blessed impact on their young souls.
The word sacrifice, korban, קָרְבָּן in Hebrew comes from the root, karev קרב which means "to be close". The sacrifice brings man closer to G-d and brings reconciliation:
Therefore, since we have now come to be considered righteous by means of his bloody sacrificial death, how much more will we be delivered through him from the anger of God's judgment! For if we were reconciled with God through his Son's death when we were enemies, how much more will we be delivered by his life, now that we are reconciled! Romans 5:9-10 Let's study the different sacrifices mentioned in our Parasha.
The Burnt offering (olah), עֹלָה from the root meaning "to raise" was a free will offering and was made in case of a sin committed in thought, willingly or not, or just to get closer to G-d. According to one's financial ability, the sacrifice would either be beef, lamb, goat or pigeon; those of poorest means could make a flour offering, called a mincha, in place of an animal.
This sacrifice, olah is mentioned first because it is higher than the others, as suggested by the root olah, from laalot, to raise. It is also a sacrifice that requires full consumption by fire (1:9), because of the contamination of the sins committed in thought which call for a complete uprooting. Yeshua specifically addressed purity of thoughts:
"You have heard that our fathers were told, 'Do not commit adultery.' {Ex 20:13 De 5:17} But I tell you that a man who even looks at a woman with the purpose of lusting after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matthew 5:27-28 The place of Yeshua's crucifixion was called Golgotha (gulgolet in Hebrew), which means the skull, or siege of our thoughts.
G-d's intention was to give us victory over our thoughts:
For although we do live in the world, we do not wage war in a worldly way; because the weapons we use to wage war are not worldly. On the contrary, they have God's power for demolishing strongholds. We demolish arguments and every arrogance that raises itself up against the knowledge of God; we take every thought captive and make it obey the Messiah. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 This victory is given to us through the Torah, the engraved Word of G-d on the fleshly tablets of our hearts through the regeneration of our spirits:
See, the Word of God is alive! It is at work and is sharper than any double edged sword - it cuts right through to where soul meets spirit and joints meet marrow, and it is quick to judge the inner reflections and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 Apart from this free will offering, a burnt offering was offered on the altar, morning and evening, as a sacrifice of flavor to G-d; none of its parts were eaten by the Cohanim, for it was fully consecrated to G-d. This reminded the people of the sacrifice of Yitzchak who prophetically foreshadowed the One Who will offer Himself unto death, giving us the victory so that we may spread abroad the sweet fragrance of His knowledge..
