Dear, I had the privilege to travel to Washington DC last week to attend the Sixth Annual CUFI Summit. What a tremendous three days! The speakers were inspiring and educational. Meeting with my congressmen and senators is always a reminder of how our government operates and the influence individuals have on the entire process. The grand finale, A Night to Honor Israel, with keynote speeches by Pastor John Hagee and Glenn Beck was amazing.
I always leave this particular convention excited about our cause and our mission as Christians supporting Israel. Since I was traveling with Sondra Baras, I joined her at one of the kosher tables, sitting with many of the Jews who came to the event. As I witnessed their amazement as they sat in a room full of 5,000 Christians cheering for Israel and giving standing ovations to the Jewish speakers, it reminded me why I'm doing what I do.
We support Israel as Christians and we are building relationships with Jews. Our motto at Christian Friends of Israeli Communities is "Connecting Christians and Jews in Support of Biblical Israel". Seeing those connections deepened through our commitment to the entire land of Israel lets me know that we are doing something right, that we are truly making a difference.
We must always question why God has placed us here on earth -- what is our purpose in life? It helps us fulfill our destiny and better defines our purpose when we know we are making a difference.
The people of Israel truly need Christian friends to stand up for them, now more than any other time in history, and amazingly, Christians are responding. They are standing up for Jews and for Israel. We are shedding the robes of anti-Semitism that our church fathers handed down for centuries and we are picking up a new banner of unconditional love and support for God's chosen people. What is needed more than ever before are Christians to grow bold and courageous as they stand up for Israel's right to live in Judea and Samaria, the heart of Biblical Israel.
So many words are said about why Israel should not give up land for a false peace, yet when it comes time to taking action on those words, many grow cautious and don't want to offend or take sides. I believe that God has taken sides, that He spoke clearly when He said to Abraham "to you and your descendants, I give this land as an everlasting inheritance."
I know most of you have stood up for Judea and Samaria, you have supported the communities and the people who live there. Yet, there are many Christians who have not taken sides, who may support Israel, but are unwilling to cross into the "politically incorrect" area concerning Judea and Samaria. We still have a job to do. We have many in our sphere of influence who we can reach out to and begin to educate, to share with them our passion about the heartland of Biblical Israel.
I would like to share with you a short video whichexplains the historical facts relating to the Israel Palestinian Conflict: The Truth About the West Bank by Israel's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Danny Ayalon. I hope that you will share it with others. It provides clear and important facts about the "West Bank" with humor, yet it conveys a very serious message.
