Just keeping you updated on our (Tony and Tina Robinson) situation here in Ringgold, GA where a category EF4 tornado hit our neighborhood in the Cherokee Valley area.
Winds were clocked at 175 miles per hour. We were in the house at the time it hit. We were preparing for dinner when we began to hear a sound that quickly grew louder (as they say, like a freight train). We had about 10 seconds to react because we did not see it or know that it was coming. We already had a plan so we all ran to an inner bathroom. It was over in about 40 seconds or so. Tina knew because her ear began to pop because of the loss of air pressure as a result of the tornado's approach. Here are pictures from our property, our immediate neighbors property, properties in my subdivision and only about 4 blocks further down on Cherokee Valley where the destruction was most devastating and deadly. They are still searching for bodies and survivors. you will see in one slide that all that was left of one house was the foundation. I knew no one could have survived. But to my amazement, when I went to take pictures today, the young couple, only married two years, were there searching for belongings! He was on crutches and she was bruised all over her body. They said the tornado picked up their house and destroyed it completely while they were in it, then flung them both out onto cherokee valley road. And of course, they know they are walking miracles.
