A Dutch youth has been given 16 hours community service in the Anne Frank house for insulting Jews.
The 18-year-old from Utrecht, identified only as Omar E., was put on trial after he had given an interview on a Dutch website in which he said that Jews should be exterminated.
During the trial the youth's lawyer had said the case should not have come to court because of the negative publicity it had brought to him, but the court ruled he had brought it on himself by giving the interview.
The Anne Frank house, where the young diarist lived in hiding during World War II, is now a Museum which focuses on fighting anti-semitism and discrimination.
