German MP returned home without being allowed to visit Y. Nadarkhani

The Chairman of the Committee for Human Rights in the German Parliament, Tom Koenigs who had travelled to Iran to investigate the conditions of Abdolfatah Soltani and Yousef Nadarkhani, returned to Germany without being allowed to meet the named prisoners.

According to Mohabat News, Deutsche Welle reported that the Chairman of the Committee for Human Rights in the German Parliament had travelled to Iran to visit two prisoners of conscience, Abdolfatah Soltani and Yousef Nadarkhani, but was prevented from visiting them by Iranian authorities.
According to a knowledgeable source, although the Iranian government knew the purpose of Mr. Tom Koenigs' trip to Iran in advance, and had promised to collaborate with him during his visit, Mr. Tom Koenigs received a cold shoulder from authorities when he attempted to visit the two prisoners and returned to Germany empty handed.
When he arrived back in Germany, Mr. Tom Koenigs wrote in a statement, "The regime which boasts about honoring human dignity and has signed the international convention on civil and political rights, should not have any problem with a visit with two prisoners of conscience. Nevertheless, my concern over the situation of Nadarkhani and Soltani remains." Read the rest on:
