Ephraim: Letter 514 (fundamentals)

Can we do תפילות prayers for:

Ephraim and Remonah?

That through them The האור Lightרפואה The Healing and The ואהבה Love of ישועת יהוה Yeshuath YHWH may come back to הארץ The Land of Israel?

Shalom Fellow Israelite,

Now after getting a little better acquainted with our Commander in Chief and head of the military body, we can proceed with an exercise program that will strengthen body parts and will increase coordination and build endurance for the future.
Each of us has to be exercised in the use of his or her particular gifting and function.   In the two armies I had been enlisted I was told that “we are as strong as our weakest link.”  If that is indeed the case, we should be prompted to help one another - by building relationships, displaying sensitivity toward each other, as well as by exercising spiritual discernment in our times together. We are also to be strengthened and encouraged in the faith, believing what is true about each other in accordance with the power that works in all of us. What is the origin of this power? Obviously the Holy Spirit, even as Yeshua told His disciples: “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you” (Acts 1:8).

Last week I stated that each foot had to step down on solid doctrinal foundations.  These foundational and empowering truths are found in the writings of both the apostles and prophets (Ephesians 2:20), and are not only the base on which we stand, but also describe the military attire that we wear/put on, and empower us for doing so.  Hence must remember that “the night is far spent, the day is at hand” and that we are to “therefore cast off the works of darkness, and…  put on the armor of light…  put on the Lord Yeshua the Messiah, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts” (Romans 13:12-14 emphasis added).

Some of our beginning foundational instructions should therefore be to become familiar first and foremost with what happened to Yeshua, as that has also been imputed to us.  Elohim put us in Yeshua on the cross. In Him we were immersed into His death. With Him we were buried, but we did not stay there. When we acknowledged by faith YHVH’s provision for our redemption, we also arose with His Son.

Since all men died when Yeshua did so (see 2 Corinthians 5: 16), when we judge we are to “… regard no one according to the flesh” (2 Corinthians 5:16), starting with ourselves.  We cannot put off the garments of darkness if that darkness is still part of our own makeup.

The accomplishment of our Heavenly Father, the great and awesome Judge of all, has been the removal of iniquity and its consequences from us as far as east is from the west, reconciling Adam/Man to Himself through the flesh body of His son while He was still alive on the execution stake. “He has reconciled [Man] in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight,” but not only that, He also “reconciled all things to Himself… whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross” (Colossians 1:20-22).

Upon the premise of the above mentioned truth, let us take a look at some more of the introductory military instructions.  As mentioned, first we must stand on what has been provided through Yeshua’s death, burial and resurrection  Once we have stepped down solidly on these doctrinal foundations, we will not be shaken and will also be steady and well balanced while “hating even the garment defiled by the flesh” (Jude 1:23), casting off the garments of darkness and putting on our military clothes and the armor of light.

Paul declares in no uncertain terms that in reality it is absolutely impossible for us to be living in the realm and dominion of sin and death any longer: “How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?”  (Romans 6:2). After he proves his point about our relationship to sin and death in and through Yeshua, he gives us more reassurance, but this time he uses another word - “know”: “Do you not know that as many of us as were immersed into Messiah Yeshua were immersed into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through immersion into death, that just as Messiah was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:3-4 emphasis added).

In basic training we are introduced to military strategies and theories which we believe are necessary in order to gain victory over our enemy.  However, they have to be proven through experience; this being another aspect of basic training, so that we may know beyond a shadow of doubt that these exercises, meant for creating unified fighting teams, work.  The Commander will keep reiterating His words that will resonate throughout our whole being until we become the very expression of His command.

Blessings and Shabbat Shalom,
Ephraim
