Want to learn more about the Feast of Trumpets? Learn about it and the other our bookstore. The Feast of Trumpets is upon us. This week we will usher in the month of Tishrei, which is to be proclaimed with a mighty blast on Yom Teruah, the Day of Blowing (Lev. 23:24).
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the
first day of the month, shall you have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing
of trumpets, an holy convocation (Leviticus 23:24).
What is this mighty blast? Where shall it come from? I believe it comes from the previous moed (feast), Shavuot / Pentecost. The moedim are connected, but after the long, hot summer we sometimes lose sight of the “Spring Feasts” as we head into the “Fall Feasts.” These titles of spring and fall are not found in Scripture; they are man-made separations. The blast that should be coming from our trumpets at Yom Teruahwas put within us at Shavuot by the Ruach haKodesh (Holy Spirit). This is the breath we are to draw from to awake, gather, and alarm His people on the Feast of Trumpets. and morethat His people will use this Yom Teruah to make the mighty blasts. There is one more we should consider as well - it is the Holy Spirit flowing through our living vessels, for we are to be walking trumpets. What we were empowered with at Shavuot is meant to be shared. We are called to spread the good news of the re-gathering of all of Israel at this hour. Abba Father wants to use your trumpet and mine, right now! You see, He equipped us at Shavuot with His Spirit, not to keep that Spirit locked inside our vessels, but to let it out. Our voice is to become a great trumpet that proclaims the truth about the re-gathering and equips the Bride of Messiah for the great wedding feast to come at Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles). With His Spirit, it is possible for our single small voice to become the great voice of a nation. For it is by His Spirit that we gain individual strength while we also gain the humility needed to join our voice with others. Combining humility and strength, the Father creates that great voice that sounds like a trumpet! I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet (Revelation 1:10).
May our trumpets sound on this Yom Teruah, and beyond, as never before. Let us shout with the good news of how Messiah Yeshua gave His all so that people could be restored to His eternal covenant, allowing them to take hold of the blessings that are found within, thereby bringing eternal life and eternal blessing to His creation. Abba, we ask you to embolden your people at this hour so that we may draw on the power you placed within us at Shavuot. May this power flow through us at Yom Teruah, as we call all of Israel to embrace their Messiah and His ways. Redeemed Israel arise! Have a blessed and fruitful Feast of Trumpets,
