The Israel Broadcasting Authority will open a special frequency – 531 AM –
for the benefit of the Shabbat-observant public. The frequency will only
broadcast emergency instructions and the like and will be silent otherwise;
thus, Shabbat-observant Israelis may leave their radios tuned to it over
Shabbat.
