Fort Calhoun nuclear power station: Flood berm collapsed.
Water now surrounds the auxiliary and containment buildings.
Water and electricity do not go together!
The berm's collapse didn't affect the reactor shutdown cooling or the spent fuel pool cooling.
Emergency generators powered the plant Sunday while workers tried to restore power.
Later in the day, power was restored.

A berm at a nuclear power plant in Fort Calhoun, Neb., collapsed early this morning, allowing Missouri River flood waters to reach containment buildings and transformers and forcing the shutdown of electrical power.

Tonight, backup generators are cooling the nuclear material at the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Station.

Still the Cover up and blackout continues. AS they learned from TEPCO "lie lie lie" till you can lie any more then lie again. As long as you can pour tons of money to the lobbyist pockets you wont have to worry about the truth ever getting out to the American public.

It seems like this has become the norm around the globe with Japan setting the example and America following along.

according to reports, but the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission said cooling of the reactor and spent-fuel pool continued. The Fort Calhoun Nuclear Station 19 miles north of Omaha has been shut since early April for refueling. There's no flood water inside the plant, but water surrounded the auxiliary and containment buildings, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission said, according to the Associated Press.

The plant's power supply was cut after water surrounded the main electrical transformers, the AP report said, but emergency generators powered the plant until an off-site power supply was connected Sunday afternoon.
