Catholic schools in Central Java threatened with closure for not teaching Islam

Jakarta (AsiaNews) - The demand to include Islamic teaching in Catholic schools is proving controversial again. A few months ago, the Education Department in Tegal District (Central Java) warned St Pius Catholic Schools to include Islamic courses for Muslim students.
Local authorities summoned Sister Madeleine, of the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, to meet the district council to discuss the issue.

The media here (and everywhere) are keen to point out that "the vast majority practice a moderate form of Islam," except for the tens of millions who don't.
And note the word "blitz." Were it any marauders other than Muslims, would such a almost comical word be used?

20 churches in Aceh face threat of demolition

Twenty churches in Singkil regency, Aceh, have been closed down and are likely to be demolished by the local administration.
According to a lawmaker from House of Representatives Commission III on human rights, Eva K. Sundari, the commission received complaints about the forced closure of 20 churches from the United North Sumatra Alliance on Monday.

JAKARTA, INDONESIA – (ANS) - Compass Direct News (CDN) is reporting that the number of violations of Christians’ religious rights in Indonesia reached 40 in the first five months of the year, nearly two-thirds the amount of anti-Christian actions in all of last year, according to the Jakarta Christian Communication Forum.

The Supreme Court must move the blasphemy trial of a Shiite religious scholar off East Java’s Madura Island to prevent fueling further violence there, a rights group said on Tuesday.

The followers of EMO music in Iraq are now either in hiding or hitting the barber shops. Who says Islam doesn’t affect cultures? Just last year in Indonesia, the followers of punk rock were hunted down, shaved bald and then sent to reeducation camps ”to get their minds right”. Face the facts, everywhere Islam exists, with considerable political influence, a war against anything deemed ‘not Islamic’ exists.

CIKEUSIK, Indonesia (AP) — When Dani bin Misra was released from prison last week after serving just three months for smashing in the skull of a member of a Muslim sect, this conservative Indonesian town let out a triumphant cry.

"He's a hero!" Rasna bin Wildan said of the teenage killer.

The ferociousness of the attack, captured on video and circulated widely on the Internet, guaranteed no one from the Ahmadiyah group would dare set foot in Cikeusik again, the 38-year-old farmer said as others nodded in agreement.
