Dear,
Greetings to the Hebrew Nation community! Will the Middle East War break out as a flashpoint between Israel and Syria? This week's news headlines seem to indicate that is what could be unfolding before our eyes. This week, we saw the killing of 1000 civilians in Syria in 10 days. Assad's days could be numbered, as a DebKa file reports that US troops are now amassing on the Jordan/Syrian border. Assad has vowed that "I will light up the entire Middle East if I think I am going down." The flashpoint war between Israel and Syria could start before end of January.
Back on the US front we have been closely watching the progress of three dangerous bills. One of the bills has been signed into law (NDAA), one is still in process with Congress (SOPA) and the third is an "implementation plan" put forward by the Obama administration. All three of these measures, when looked at in the big picture, reveal an alarming pattern. They completely erode the constitution, limit our freedom, and are truly disturbing in their scope and power. Together, they move us much more toward a military/police state. They are: 1. The NDAA Indefinite Detention bill On December 16, Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act into law. This newly passed law declares the homeland a "battlefield" and allows US military troops to be used as a police force against American citizens. Under this law, US Citizens can be indefinitely detained without due process if they are considered a "terrorist threat". The passage of the bill moved at lightning speed. Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson - General Colin Powell's chief of staff - says that the bill is a big step towards tyranny at home. Congressman Ron Paul says that it sets the stage to establish martial law in America.
2. Internet Piracy Bill (aka SOPA), if passed, will give sweeping powers to Attorney General Eric Holder to Police the Internet. On Dec 15 the House Judiciary Committee voted on H.R.3261, the Stop Online Privacy Act (SOPA). Under SOPA, the federal government - which is prohibited constitutionally from abridging free speech or depriving its citizens of their property without due process - would engage in both practices on an unprecedented scale. This legislation would destroy the internet as we know it and severely impinge on free speech and the spread of information.Once this bill passes committee, it could be voted on by the whole of the House of Representatives at any time. 3. "Homegrown Terrorism Implementation Plan" On December 14, the Obama adminstration released a report, announcing that it will intensify efforts to counter homegrown terrorism on the homefront. What does the current administration consider to be a "terrorist threat"? The report does NOT identify violent Islamist extremism as a threat. But, it does notes that other forms of violent extremism will not be ignored, stating,
"free societies face threats from a range of violent extremists."
So, under the current administration, you might be considered a "potential terror threat" for attending an Occupy or Tea Party event, for being a pro-constitutionalist, for opposing abortion, for carrying an "Anti-Obama" sign, for being a returning veteran, for being a gun-owner, or for being a conservative Christian?

| Syria Crisis Deepens: Death Toll: 1000 Dead in 10 days |
Total Number of Civilian Deaths Over 5000 Since Protests Started in March 2011
The death toll in Syria has risen by another 1,000 people in just 10 days, according to a report that served to deepen divisions within the United Nations over how to respond to the crisis. On a day that activists and the Syrian government reported scores more deaths from fighting between troops and rebels, Navi Pillay, the UN Human Rights Commissioner, said that more than 5,000 people had been killed since the start of the uprising against the rule of President Bashir al-Assad in March. This was up significantly from the beginning of the month, when the total stood at 4,000, and does not include any deaths from among Assad's security forces.

Mainstream Media is Being Censored on this Unfolding Development
Following similar reports by former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds, Israeli intelligence sources confirm that US Special Forces are massing in Jordan on the Syrian border having been transferred from Iraq. On Sunday Edmonds reportedthat hundreds of foreign troops were witnessed near the Jordanian border village of Al-Mafraq, having moved back and forth between King Hussein Air Base of al-Mafraq and villages adjacent to the Syrian border. After interviewing an employee in the London-based office of Royal Jordanian Airlines, Nizar Nayouf also reported that, "At least one US aircraft carrying military personnel landed in the Prince Hassan Air base located about 100 km to the east of the city of Al-Mafraq.
According to Edmonds, the mainstream media has been eager to keep the movement of the troops under wraps, with one journalist from a major publication being told by his editor that there would be no coverage of the story.
The Israeli intelligence outlet DebkaFile has now backed these reports, stating that, "American special forces troops have been diverted to positions in Jordan opposite a Syrian tank concentration building up across the kingdom's northern border."

As Assad has come under mounting pressure from a revolt at home and moves to isolate him abroad, initial wariness by Israeli officials of speaking publicly about the fate of his regime has given way to open speculation about how long he can hold on to power, who might replace him and the possible risks of a chaotic disintegration of his rule.

| President Signs off on Bill to Detain Homegrown Terror Suspects Indefinitely |
Gives US Military Powers to Arrest Americans and Hold Them Without Trial
President Barack Obama faced a civil liberties backlash today after he signed a law that will allow terror suspects to be held indefinitely- even raising the prospects of U.S. citizens being sent to Guantanamo Bay.
The controversial move, revealed last night, effectively extends the laws of the battlefield to American soil.
The move shows a clear hardening of Mr Obama's anti-terror policies, and a major shift from the liberal stance that helped him sweep into power three years ago. 'It's something so radical that it would have been considered crazy had it been pushed by the Bush administration,' said Human Rights Watch spokesman Tom Malinowski. 'It establishes precisely the kind of system that the United States has consistently urged other countries not to adopt. At a time when the United States is urging Egypt, for example, to scrap its emergency law and military courts, this is not consistent,' Mr Malinowski continued.

| Indefinite Detention Bill (now Law) DOES Apply to American Citizens on US Soil |
Section 1031 of NDAA Allows For Citizens to be Detained Indefinitely Without Due Process
December 14, 2011 was the day the House of Representatives voted in favor of the National Defense Authorization Act, a bill that allows US military troops to be used as a police force against Americans. The house vote was 245-169. On Friday, December 16, the President signed this dangerous bill into law. The passage of the bill went at lightning speed, perhaps so there would be no time for the public to try to block it. Here is what many leaders are saying about the new law:
Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson - General Colin Powell's chief of staff - says that the bill is a big step towards tyranny at home.
Congressman Ron Paul says that it will establish martial law in America.
U.S. Congressman Justin Amash states in a letter to Congress:
"The Senate's [bill] does not even distinguish between American citizens and non-citizens, or between persons caught domestically and abroad. The President's power, in his discretion, to detain persons he determines have supported associated forces applies just as strongly to Americans seized on U.S. soil as it does to foreigners captured on a far away battlefield."
Two retired 4-star generals (Charles C. Krulak and Joseph P. Hoar) write in the New York Times:
"One provision [in the bill] would authorize the military to indefinitely detain without charge people suspected of involvement with terrorism, including United States citizens apprehended on American soil. Due process would be a thing of the past."

The vote in the Senate was supposed to happen on 12/15/11, and then at the last minute (I wonder WHY?) they moved the vote up to 12/14/11. Grease the skids and pass the bill before the public can make an outcry! Obama signed the bill into law on 12/15/11. That is what I call FAST TRACKING a bill! What is this administration getting ready for?

Praise Abba that Israel's Leader is Looking to Word Of God for Wisdom!
(Intercessors for Israel Prayer Letter, 12/16/11) Prime Minister Netanyahu announced this past week that he was re-establishing a regular Bible Study in the Prime Minister's residence. This is something that Ben Gurion established as the first Prime Minister of Israel, but which was stopped years later. There has not been a bible study of this sort in the Prime Minister's home for many years. This is very encouraging to hear and we pray the Lord would bring much fruit from it. May we stand in agreement with their prayers: - Would You reveal Yourself through the study of Your Word!
- May these Bible studies stick to the written Word of God and not to rabbinical commentaries.
- We thank You for PM Netanyahu's decision to do this and we ask You to look with favor upon this.
- Let Your Word go deep within Him and may He be transformed.
- Let this change filter down to all of those people working under him.
- May Your people love Your Word and be changed by it.
- We pray that our Prime Minister would rejoice in the reading of Your Word.
- We ask that the whole nation would be touch by this decision.
- May the Netanyahu have more boldness to speak scripture during the speeches he gives.

Free Speech Kill Switch Threatens Internet Freedom
Tomorrow (Dec 15) the House Judiciary Committee is going to vote on H.R.3261, the Stop Online Privacy Act, or SOPA for short. This legislation would destroy the internet as we know it and severely impinge on free speech and the spread of information.
If this passes committee, which all indications say it likely will, it could be voted on by the whole of the House of Representatives at any time.
Individuals and corporations both large and small are stepping up to fight back against the draconian SOPA legislation and the Senate's sister legislation, the PROTECT IP Act.
However, there is a significant lobby that is pushing back against the tide of freedom and liberty in an attempt to severely restrict the internet.

Expansion of the Military Police State in America (Capitol Hill Prayer Partners, 12/14/11) The Obama administration on Thursday released an implementation plan for intensified efforts to counter so-called "homegrown" violent extremism in the United States. (Co-chairs of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, Independent Democrat Joseph Lieberman and Republican Susan Collins) voiced disappointment that the Obama administration did not designate a single agency to coordinate operations, and with the administration's "refusal to identify violent Islamist extremism as our enemy." It notes that other forms of violent extremism will not be ignored, and mentions as an example the attacks in Norway in July, saying, "free societies face threats from a range of violent extremists."
What does it mean? Commentary from HN News editor: Now that our country has been declared a "battlefield" under the recent passage of the NDAA bill, we are seeing the nation transform into a military/police state before our eyes. How does the current administration define a "terror threat?" For attending an Occupy Wallstreet or Tea Party event? For being a pro-constitutionalist? Celente points out that the people in charge have an agenda for war and the military industrial complex is taking over the country. "They've turned the whole country into one big homeland security and the priority is on military." The trends forecaster predicts economic martial law is coming. "When the new year comes, the winter of discontent is going to set in and reality is going to bite."
