“Islam is a tolerant religion.” This is what a Dutch convert and Islam expert said in an interview with the Saudi daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat (March 10, 2009).
- The woman works for the Amsterdam Free University. Her name is “Stella Van Der Wetring.” This is a transliteration from Arabic. I could not find how her name is written in Dutch.
The Dutch convert reiterates, “Islam is a tolerant and merciful religion.” She also says, “The bad picture about Islam in school and university curricula in Holland and in other Western countries was established by Orientalists.”
Obviously, the Dutch convert has not read all those egregious passages in the Koran and Hadeeth which preach hatred and violence.
Neither has she checked out the Saudi school books which also teach hatred and violence against other religions, the West, and women.
We should all be proud of apologists like our Dutch convert. She is really a great peace-loving convert. Here is a corroboration of her views, which clearly show that Islam is “really a tolerant faith.”
Literally, the Koran says the following about the Jews, Christians, and other “unbelievers:”
“O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.” (Sura 5, verse 51).“And the Jews say: Uzair is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah DESTROY them; how they are turned away!” (Sura 9, verse 30).“And the Jews will not be pleased with you, nor the Christians until you follow their religion. Say: Surely Allah's guidance, that is the (true) guidance. And if you follow their desires after the knowledge that has come to you, you shall have no guardian from Allah, nor any helper.” (Sura 2, verse 120). Read the rest on:
