A new campaign is being organized on Facebook, calling on Palestinians to participate in a great protest to restore dignity on Friday. The campaign follows the infiltration into Israel by dozens of Palestinians living in Syria, and other attempts to do so by Palestinians in Lebanon, on Nakba Day on Sunday. The Facebook page says, "Our objective is to avenge the incidents on Sunday."
Sabri Youssuf al-Sawalama, who was wounded by IDF fire when trying to infiltrate Israel from Syria on Nakba Day claims that he was shot when trying to kidnap an Israeli solder. He told Syrian daily "Tishrin" that he was throwing stones at the soldier to neutralize him, and that another soldier shot him.
On Monday, the paper published pictures of the incidents around the Druze village of Magdal Shams on the Golan, which reinforce assessments that the infiltration was organized and controlled by the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. A video clip made by one of the infiltrators that was uploaded onto a Syrian opposition website shows armed men, identified as members of the regime's security forces, escorting the infiltrators to the border and giving them instructions.
