In this week’s 5 minute update, we focused on several things:
1) The current status of the Israel / PLO peace process and the situation with Egypt
2) World Food prices at historic highs
France is willing to host talks on establishing a PLO state in 2011. Regarding the crisis in Egypt, Obama wants a political transition to begin now. Given that the government of Hosni Mubarak has been a vital friend of the US over the past 30 years and has given stability to the Egyptian-Israel peace treaty signed in 1979, why would the US be so willing to want for the Mubarak government to fall? The US may be promoting the rise and influence of the Muslim Brotherhood in the Middle East. The US had secret meetings with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt in the past week. Meanwhile, the US has lifted a ban against a Muslim Brotherhood leader from entering the USA. WND reports that the true goals of the Muslim Brotherhood is to resurrect the Caliphate which fell from the fall of the Ottoman Empire in WW I. They seek to achieve their aims by calling for “democracy and social justice”. The Muslim Brotherhood would like to create a Muslim Union in the Middle East and the Obama administration seems to be sympathetic toward their goals. The rise of the Muslim Brotherhood would create the condition for war in the Middle East against Israel. War in the Middle East could cause worldwide economic collapse. This would create a condition to call for One World Government. Watching how the US is abandoning the government of Mubarak so quickly given that Egypt has been a strong friend of the USA over the years, the Israeli government is in shock. Israel now recognizes that if a crisis happens in the Middle East that they cannot trust on the help of the USA. They will be on their own. This would mean that the nation of Israel would have to put all their trust in the God of Israel.
An agreement to divide Jerusalem and establish a PLO state is a tribulation event.

From a Biblical prophetic perspective, the reason why the God of Israel would allow these events to happen is because it will result in the end of the exile of the house of Jacob and the reunification of the 12 tribes of Israel (Ephraim and Judah).
We will to be “watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem” and we will not rest until the God of Israel makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth (Isaiah 62).
