planks hidden in the hills
In what can only be described as a full military operation, tens of
members of the security forces arrived yesterday, Monday, November 15,
2010, in Netzer, Gush Etzion, in order to destroy the floor to a succa
built by the Women For Israel's Tomorrow (Women in Green) and Netzer
activists.
We are talking about a floor for a succa pergola that was built two
months ago and which is meant to become a lookout.
The activists, who saw the security forces getting organized to
confiscate the 50 wooden boards needed for that floor, decided to hide
the wooden planks at different locations in the hills around Netzer.
Tens of soldiers armed with flashlights arrived and started searching
for the wooden planks. They found 20 out of 50. They placed the wooden
planks on their commando car and, accompanied by at least 15 jeeps,
the wooden boards were evacuated from the hill.
Immediately after the security forces left, the activists took out
their generator, the tools and brought the 30 boards from their hiding
places which the forces had not found. As we type this, the activists
are already back at the scene, building the floor to the lookout.
Interestingly, the Arabs who had come two weeks ago with axes and
electric saws to Netzer to cut down the Jews' olive trees, have not
been caught yet, but the security forces do have time to waste tens of
police and army forces on 50 wooden planks that belong to Jews.
"We assume that Bibi is eager to receive some more compliments from
Obama" say Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar. "We will not tolerate a
situation where Jews are not allowed to build. Just as Rosa Parks
defied the racist "law" that did not allow black people to board buses
of white people and went on a bus meant for white people, so we will
defy the law that prevents Jews from building in Erets Israel. Every
law that is racist or immoral, whoever fights it will, please G-d, be
victorious. The pergola lookout will, please G-d, be built."
