Shabbat Yitro 5772  Friday 17 Shevat 5772 - Feb 10, 2012 Dear,     English transcripts of this week's lectures  This week's shiur was also given in connection with the end of the first semester of study at Harav Ginsburgh's school of Jewish psychology. Over 400 people attended the weekly class including many of the students enrolled in the school.  A welcome addition to the Monday night lectures was a big-screen on which the English transcript was displayed in real-time for the benefit of English speakers. Hopefully, the same arrangement will continue in the coming week's. You can download the transcript from this week's shiur here. Please note that the content of all these transcripts/notes was neither seen nor reviewed by Harav Ginsburgh, so all the mistakes are mine.     Weekly video   The weekly video is titled, "The many faces of God." It begins with the well-known question of why, in the first commandment, God describes Himself as having taken the Jewish people out of Egypt and not as the Creator of the heavens and the earth. Citing Rashi's surprising answer, Harav Ginsburgh continues to analyze the different way in which God revealed Himself in Jewish history and how these different faces relate to our need to understand why God runs the world the way He does.
