| ` Where is Emanuel Located? |
| The city of Emanuel, founded in 1983, is home to over 3,000 people, on the border separating the Biblical tribes of Ephraim and Menashe, overlooking the nearby tomb of Joshua son of Nun. The community boasts no fewer than three elementary schools for boys, two elementary schools for girls, one high school for girls, a daycare center, and several kindergartens. Emanuel's peaceful existence was brutally disrupted on two separate occasions in 2000, when the bus that connects Emanuel to the cities of the Dan and Sharon region was ambushed by Palestinian terrorists. As I read about the children of Emanuel, my heart went out to these children. They are truly in need of a Christian Friend. Together we can raise the necessary funds so that each one will have an opportunity to overcome their individual difficulties. They will be able to achieve their full potential and become contributing members of society as they grow into adulthood.
With your donation this month for the community of Emanuel, we will accomplish so much. It can often feel overwhelming to contemplate the enormous poverty suffered by so many all over the world, and it seems as if there is never enough to solve all of the problems. On the other hand, we know that every little bit does help! You can make a difference in the lives of the children of Emanuel.

What Does Emanuel Need? |

 The people... the children of Emanuel... are eager to be part of an educational support program. Recently, Emanuel has started working under the auspices of an already existing Child Development Center. This regional Center has been treating children for many years, dealing with learning disabilities, behavioral problems and speech and motor difficulties. Partnership with this Center is giving Emanuel the tools it needs to help their children grow, under professional, nurturing guidance. After Emanuel pays the annual fee to become part of the Child Development Center, health insurance coverage will take care of the rest.
The Child Development Center believes that through prevention, intervention, and treatment, children, parents, and the educational system as a whole, can be saved years of emotional heartache, compounding frustration, behavioral complications, and financial burdens. By evaluating problems early on, during the neurological development of the child, children can start getting help for their language and speech problems and get treatment for their sensory, gross and fine motor delays. Physical therapists can catch problems early on, and the children pinpointed can be sent immediately for appropriate therapy. The Center will provide occupational, speech and physical therapy.
