KUWAIT: Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mutlaq Al-Qarawi explained that the ministry does not issue licenses for building churches. He added that the ministry receives the request and refers it directly to the municipality which has the authority to approve the request and allocate land or to reject it.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Nathem Al-Mesbah said that a question should be directed to the Fatwa Committee at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs regarding its opinion about building churches in Muslim countries. He added that he believes that building churches in the Arabian Peninsula is impermissible while Sheikh Mohammad Homoud Al-Jendi also concurs.

His regime has this week threatened to do the latter, thus finally confirming what was long suspected but never openly admitted, that Syria possesses chemical weapons. Be alarmed: The U.S. government continues to be "advised by organizations and individuals that the U.S. government itself has identified in federal courts as fronts for the international Muslim Brotherhood."

So wrote Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., in a lengthy, heavily footnoted answer to a query last week from Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn. He was seeking more information about the reasons Bachmann plus four other House Republicans - Louis Gohmert (Texas), Trent Franks (Ariz.),  Lynn Westmoreland (Ga.) and Thomas Rooney (Fla.) - requested Inspector General investigations into "potential Muslim Brotherhood infiltration" of the government. The information comes after a bus carrying Israeli youths exploded Wednesday in a Black Sea resort in Bulgaria, killing six and injuring 30 others. Fire engulfed the bus after the attack, which occurred as the bus was on its way back to the youths’ hotel.

Caught in the middle of a showdown between opposition forces and the Syrian army, many Christians fear the prospect of an Islamist-led government if President Bashar al-Assad is deposed.
On July 11, Maximos al-Jamal, a Greek Orthodox priest, negotiated a deal between armed rebels and the army to evacuate 63 Christians caught in the crossfire in the bombed-out city of Homs, the Associated Press reports.

The Exodus Became Israel's First Ship of State-65 Years Ago.

Sixty-five years ago last week the Exodus, then called the USS President Warfield,  had its name changed for the last time as it embarked on what would be its last and most famous mission, bringing Holocaust survivors to the Holy Land. Back then the British were trying to curry favor with the Arab nations by preventing Jews from settling the holy land, today it is the President of the United States doing the same thing.

As the world ramped up to WWII the British caved into Arab pressure (that would never happen now--would it ?) and refused to allow any Jews to enter what was then called Palestine (the Roman's changed the name from Judea to Palestine in 135CE to hurt the morale of the Jews who's uprising was just crushed). Many of those trying to get in to Palestine were trying to escape the Holocaust, after the war, when the Exodus made its final journey, the British were stopping Holocaust Survivors from entering the holy land.

Teacher at Blackburn mosque used 'torture positions' on pupils

A TEACHER at a Blackburn mosque has admitted using beatings and torture positions as a form of discipline on four pupils.
Irfan Patel, 33, pleaded guilty to four counts of cruelty to a person under the age of 16 at Preston Crown Court yesterday.
Using an Urdu translator to enter his plea, the teacher of several years, showed no emotion.
The court heard Patel used physical violence to discipline the boys aged between 10 and 16 between January 1, 2011 and October 19, 2011.

<p>&nbsp;</p>Mohamed al-Zawahiri, brother of Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri, has said that the 572 military detainees pardoned by President Mohamed Morsy on Thursday included 25 leaders of Islamic Jihad and Jama'a al-Islamiya.

 

He said the decree did not pardon those involved in cases dating back to 1994 that involve the activities of militants who fought the government of ousted President Hosni Mubarak in an insurgency in the early 1990s.
