Rabbis Sail Out to Sea to Pray for Rain

by Elad Benari
The Jordan Valley Religious Council together with the Ayelet HaShachar outreach organization held a mass prayer on Wednesday in Lake Kinneret.

Led by some of Israel’s prominent rabbis, dozens of worshipers arrived at the KIbbutz Ein Gev quay where they boarded a sailboat and sailed the Sea of Galilee. The worshippers sounded a Shofar, the age old tradition when there is a national emergency, and recited the prayer for rain.

In the following video, Chief Rabbi of the City of Rehovot Rabbi Simcha Hakohen Kook speaks about the event.
