Silwan woman tries to stab officer 'over anti-Islam film'

East Jerusalem resident tried to knife officer at Shalem police station parking lot; police suspect attack linked to movie that sparked Muslim riots worldwide

A woman from east Jerusalem's Silwan neighborhood tried to stab an officer at the parking lot of the Shalem police station on Sunday.


Police suspect the attack, which took place at around 7:30 am, was linked to the anti-Islam film 'Innocence of Muslims,' which mocks the prophet Mohammed.

According to an initial investigation, the 32-year-old woman approached the police officer as he was walking in the parking lot and attempted to stab him with a knife. Following a short struggle the officer restrained the woman. No one was injured in the incident.Read the rest on: Ynet
