100s of Jews make pilgrimage to Temple Mount before Shavuot Holiday
7 Jun 2011, 8:46 am

This morning hundreds of Jews made pilgrimage to the Temple Mount in honor of the Holiday of Shavuot, which marks the revelation of the Torah to the Jewish People at Mount Sinai, some 3300 years ago.

The police allowed religious Jews up in waves of about 50. The first group was comprised of people from all over the land of Israel and including a group of American Yeshiva boys from Eretz HaTzvi in Jerusalem. The second large group from the Samarian town of Karnei Shomron was headed by Knesset Member Michael Ben Ari and included well over 50 participants as well.

Many non-Jews entering the Mount expressed shock at the treat of Jews by the Israeli police at the entrance of the Mount. One young non-Jewish man mentioned, “I heard about this, but I never believed it was true, this is truly terrible”
