Israeli embassies around the world are on special alert due to “unusual circumstances,” the Foreign Ministry said Tuesday. The Ministry said that it had uncovered evidence of possible “unusual activities against Israeli targets,” and security has been raised to the highest possible level in Israeli installations around the world. The Ministry said that it was considering temporarily closing down several Israeli installations because of the threats.
Last week, defense officials said that there were specific dangers to Israelis and Israeli institutions in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Ivory Coast, Mali, Mauritania, and Venezuela.
