Question: Rabbi, what is your reaction to the violent incidents which took place Monday night in the Shomron against the Brigadier Commander, Deputy Brigadier Commander, and soldiers?

Answer: I don't know exactly what happened, but one thing I am sure: Whatever the media reports is extremely exaggerated. The media and the I.D.F.'s dubious reputation have been acquired over many years. Till this day, there hasn't been one story which I was familiar with that was reported correctly.

Sen. Dick Durbin to Gut U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF)

Washington, D.C. (December 15, 2011) – International Christian Concern (ICC) has learned that Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois has released his call back on H.R 2867, legislation that would reauthorize the U.S Commission on International Religious Freedom. However, Senator Durbin also added an amendment to the legislation that would force many of the longest serving commissioners to leave USCIRF permanently, thereby removing some of the commission's most experienced and knowledgeable staff. The amended bill passed the Senate on Tuesday and the House was notified Wednesday of the Senate’s decision. With the commission only hours from closing its doors permanently and the House on the verge of leaving for its winter recess, House legislators must now quickly choose between voting for an amended reauthorization bill or risking the extinction of USCIRF.

A British doctor shot dead  by the Taliban was part of a humanitarian mission that had helped 2,000 Afghans, an inquest heard yesterday.

Dr Karen Woo was executed alongside nine other aid workers after they tried to cross a mountain river in August last year.

The 36-year-old, who was due to get married a fortnight later, suffered  ‘catastrophic’ injuries from two gunshot wounds in the attack.

The attack is linked to a jail-break. According to Dutch news-site AD, the attack might be linked to a recent honor murder trial. Yesterday four members of the Pakistani Sheikh family were sentenced for the murder of Saida Sheikh. Brother Mudusar was sentenced to 15 years, father Mahmood Tariq to 25, the mother got 20 years and sister Sariya got five years. During sentencing the court received a phone call from a Pakistani organization threatening an attack on the courts in Brussels and Charleroi.

Other sources say the attackers have a drug-crime history.
