Hundreds of protesters gathered before the Israeli embassy in Cairo Friday following prayer services, torched Israeli flags and called on Hamas to attack the Jewish state.
Meanwhile a senior Egyptian official announced that the death toll among security forces following Thursday's deadly terror attacks in Israel had reached six. Israel says the men were killed by the same terror cell that killed eight Israelis Thursday.

A Pakistani Christian woman who was abducted in 2009 has escaped from her captor.
After Arifa Alfred, 27, was drugged and kidnapped in central Pakistan, she awoke and was shown papers stating that she had converted to Islam and married her captor. After two years of torture, she escaped on August 1.

The terrorist attack in southern Israel on August 18 in which eight Israelis were killed – six civilians and two from the security forces – was initiated and executed by the Palestinian terrorist organization known as the “Popular Resistance Committees,” which operate as a terrorist arm of Hamas. The operation represents a change in the approach of Hamas toward the issue of the “Arab Spring,” from acting only passively as an observer, limiting itself to damage control, to an entirely new stance in an attempt to reshape reality in the Middle East.

BAGHDAD, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Turkish fighter jets renewed on Thursday air strikes targeting border areas inside Iraq following deadly ambush by the outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK), Kurdish official website reported. "Five Turkish warplanes on Thursday noon bombarded the border areas of Lolan, Snin, Ligan and Gali Kharkurk near the town of Sidkan in Arbil province and caused material damages," said the official website of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), a major Kurdish party headed by Iraq President Jalal Talabani. "The Turkish fighter jets flew at extremely low altitude and carried out heavy bombings on the border areas sparking panic among the residents who were forced to leave their homes and properties," the website quoted an anonymous Kurdish source as saying.
